“Celebrating God’s Grace Through Relationships”

Worship Ministies

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.”
Romans 12:1 (NIV)

Worship Arts Ministry

The worship experience at River Ridge Covenant Church is an authentic experience. Each week we gather to worship together as a family of believers in Jesus Christ. We are a multi-generational church that gathers together to express our love for Jesus Christ and to lift up praise, thanksgiving and adoration to Him. Worship is vertical and horizontal. Vertical in that we focus on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Horizontal, in that we experience worship together and encourage each other in our walk with Christ.

Q&A: What type of music does River Ridge Covenant Church do?

River Ridge loves to sing a new song to our God and we enjoy a wide venue of music with songs from Chris Tomlin, Matt Redmond, David Crowder, Kathyrn Scott, Paul Baloche, Sara Groves and Darlene Zcech as well as the classic hymns. Our worship is Ancient/Modern worship because we love to take old hymns and make them new.

Q& A: How are the songs selected?

The planning of songs is carefully prayed over and much thought goes into the flow of the worship service. We strive to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and desire that each opportunity given to worship Jesus Christ is a meaningful experience that gives glory to God and draws people closer to Him. The songs are also planned around the sermon text and theme for the weekend. We often find songs that have scripture in them which reinforces and helps us remember the message for the week.

Q& A: Who participates on the worship team?

We encourage the participation of people all ages in our worship services. We often include children and teens, young adults on up to seniors in our services.

We encourage our youth to be involved and have a history of youth that grow up to be involved in music at college and lead worship as adults. Involving young people is important to us and teaches them the importance of worship in our lives. The worship team often includes a full band (drums, bass, piano, electric and acoustic guitars and saxophone as well as vocalists).

Q& A: How does the worship team prepare to lead worship?

Each week the worship team spends time praying together, reading God’s word and sharing together in fellowship. We view this as a vital part of this ministry. Cultivating healthy relationships is important to us and grows strong worship teams that are in unity. We also encourage each other to grow in our giftedness so that we can give our best to the One who deserves our very best.
